In January of 1990, while living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I took a trip on my motorcycle to Los Angeles and back. Why I thought it was feasible to ride a motorcycle out of New Mexico in January is not clear; I hit snow and ice, and in general this was a stupid thing to do. But I mostly stuck to fairly southern routes, and in particular went through the Phoenix area on the way west, and through the Tucson area on the way back east, and got some interesting desert and cactus photos on the way.
