Apache Canyon Rd

Apache Canyon Road. An easy but lovely and fun dirt road, a nice 10-mile charge. After the campground, you’re riding in a sandy wash; in theory you can take this all the way until it meets Quatal Canyon Road, but in fact the sand is such a slog that we’ve never gone more than a couple of miles. And I’ve heard that in fact there’s a landslide blocking the trail to Quatal Canyon Road anyway.

Matt braves the wash. Sorry, no pictures of Matt actually riding in the wash, because he’s alone and carrying the camera. Took a few pictures of what’s up there, though.

This is the second visit. Here we’ve reached the campground at the far end of the road and are hanging out, preparatory to braving the wash.

After we’d both ridden in the wash, I made John ride my bike so he could see that it was handling the wash better than his bike.
